‘Fase: Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich', with choreography by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (historic world premiere in 1982) resulted in the birth of Rosas, De Keersmaeker's dance company of international repute. The 58 minute ballet is compelling and confrontational. Fase, the film, reinforces the emotional undercurrent of the dance by creating its own authentic identity. Versions of the film are available on DVD and video, with a full introduction by Ernie Tee on the inner sleeve.
